Who gets to see your plan — and who can find it.
When you create a plan, you choose who can discover it. There are three visibility options:
Public — Anyone on Pie can see your plan in their feed or search results.
Friends Only — Only your friends on Pie can see it. This is the default.
Invite Only — The plan won't show up anywhere. Only people you explicitly invite can see it.
Choosing your visibility
You can set or change visibility at any time — before or after publishing. Open your plan, tap ⋯ → Edit Plan, and update the Visibility field.
How "Guests Can Invite Others" affects visibility
Even if your plan is Friends Only, turning on Guests Can Invite Others (in Advanced Settings) lets your attendees share the plan with people outside your friend list. Those people can join or request to join depending on your Request to Join setting.
In practice: Friends Only + Guests Can Invite Others means your friends can bring others in — it's more open than it looks. If you want to keep the guest list tight, turn that setting off.
💡 Visibility controls who discovers your plan. Who can actually join is controlled by your Request to Join setting.
FAQ
Can I change visibility after publishing?
Yes — you can update it anytime, even after people have joined.
If my plan is Friends Only, can strangers still find it?
Only if an attendee shares a link with them directly and you have Guests Can Invite Others enabled. It won't appear in their feed or search.
Does visibility affect the plan link?
The short link (getpie.at/e/...) always works for people who already have it. But on an Invite Only plan, only invited guests can open it.
