Setting Up a Plan

Here's what to expect when creating a plan on Pie.

Plans start as drafts. Fill in the basics, add details as you go, and publish when you're ready. You don't need everything figured out upfront.

πŸ“± Customize Your Pie Plan

  1. Tap + to create a new plan.
  2. Upload a cover image.
  3. Give your plan a title.
  4. Select a date and time.
  5. Add a location.
  6. Add a price and ticketing details (by default, your plan is free)
  7. Add links.
  8. Add a description and other details.
  9. Add favorite tags: select themes that help people find your plan through interest-based search.
  10. Add questions for guests. This is also how you can collect contact info: if you want to be able to export guest emails later, add "Email" as one of your questions. (Check out the Managing Your Created Plans article on exporting responses.) Once your plan is live, questions can't be added, edited, or deleted - so add them before publishing.
  11. Tap "add to community" to post your plan inside a Community Home where you're an owner or admin.
  12. Choose your visibility: Invite Only, Friends, or Public. This also sets whether guests need to request to join or can join freely β€” you can't change this after publishing, so choose carefully. (See Plan Visibility or more on what each setting means.)
  13. When you're ready, tap Publish.

What you can change after publishing

Most things can be edited after a plan goes live. Here's what matters:

You can change:

  • Title, description, date, time, location, cover photo
  • Visibility: open it up or lock it down anytime
  • Capacity: you can raise or lower the guest limit, but once you've set a capacity you can't remove it entirely
  • Ticketing details: please note - ticketed plans may have different settings, and some things like location and date cannot be changed after the plan is live. See Ticketing on Pie for more.

Attendees are notified when key details like date, time, or location change.

You can't change:

  • Whether the plan requires guests to request to join - if you select request-to-join, that setting locks the moment you publish
  • Questions for guests - these can't be added, edited, or deleted once the plan is live

Duplicating a plan

Want to reuse a plan? You can duplicate it.

  1. Open the plan.
  2. Tap β‹― β†’ Duplicate.
  3. A copy opens as a new draft with all the same details - edit and publish as usual.
