Understanding Your RSVP Status

Your RSVP status tells you — and the host — exactly where you stand.

Plans on Pie come in two types: open plans anyone can join, and request-to-join plans where the host approves guests. Your RSVP status depends on which type you're dealing with.

Your RSVP statuses at a glance

Status What it means
I'm in You've confirmed you're going (open plans)
Going! You've been approved and you're in (request-to-join plans)
Maybe You're interested but not committed (open plans only)
Pending You've requested to join and are waiting for host approval
Pending purchase You're approved but your ticket payment isn't complete yet
Declined The host didn't approve your request
Not going You left the plan, or the host removed you

📱 On the App

On an open plan:

  1. Tap I'm in to confirm, or Maybe if you're not sure.
  2. To leave, open the plan and tap Leave Plan.

On a request-to-join plan:

  1. Tap Request to Join.
  2. Your status shows Pending until the host responds.
  3. If approved, your status changes to Going! and you're in.
  4. If declined, you'll see Declined on the plan.

💻 On the Web

Same flow — open plans let you RSVP immediately, request-to-join plans put you in a pending state until the host reviews.

💡 Once you've paid for a ticket, you can't leave the plan yourself. Contact the host if you need to sort something out.

💡 You can only use Maybe on open plans with no guest limit. If a plan has a capacity cap, it's I'm in or nothing.

💡 Group chat unlocks once your status is I'm in, Going!, or Maybe — not while you're pending or declined.

What happens when a plan is full?

If a plan has a guest limit and it's been reached, you won't be able to join. There's no waitlist — the plan simply won't accept new RSVPs until someone leaves and frees up a spot.

FAQ

Can I change my RSVP after joining?
Yes, on most plans. You can leave an open plan or a non-ticketed request-to-join plan at any time. If you've paid for a ticket, you can't leave — reach out to the host directly.

Will the host know when I join?
Yes. Hosts get notified when someone RSVPs or requests to join their plan.

Can I rejoin a plan after leaving?
On open plans, yes. On request-to-join plans, you'd need to submit a new request and get approved again.

What does "Pending purchase" mean?
The host approved your request, but you haven't completed your ticket payment yet. Finish the purchase to lock in your spot and access the group chat.

Can I be removed from a plan?
Yes — hosts can remove attendees at any time, which sets your status to Not going.
