Finding & Adding Friends on Pie

Friends are your inner circle on Pie - friending is mutual, so both people need to accept before the friendship is official.

Once you’re friends, you can:

  • Message each other directly
  • See more of each other’s activity and plans on Pie

📱 On the App

💻 On the Web

The flow is a bit different on web.

To browse people:

  1. Use the People tab in the left sidebar (three-person icon)
  2. From there, you can:
    • Scroll through people you may know
    • View your friends and followers

To add someone new:

  • Open their profile directly
  • Click Add Friend

At the moment, broader user search by name is only available in the mobile app through the Friends & Followers search flow.

Will they know if I remove them as a friend?

No - unfriending is silent. No notification is sent.

Can I friend someone I don’t follow?

Yes. You can send a friend request to anyone on Pie - no prior follow needed.

What plans can my friends see on my profile?

Friends can see:

  • Public plans
  • Friends-only plans (if you’re mutual friends on Pie)
  • Invite-only plans they’ve been specifically invited to

People you aren’t friends with can only see:

  • Public plans
  • Plans they’ve been directly invited to

Being friends gives someone the most visibility into your activity and plans on Pie.

What happens if I block someone?

Blocking someone immediately removes the friendship.

Once blocked:

  • They will no longer see plans you’ve created
  • Their profile and activity will stop surfacing in your feed
  • You will no longer be searchable to each other on Pie

However, if you and the blocked user are both attending the same plan, their profile may still appear within that plan experience.

This is an intentional privacy and safety measure built into the platform.

If you later unblock someone, the friendship will not automatically return - you’d need to reconnect again manually.

Is there a limit to how many friends I can have?

Nope — there’s currently no friend limit on Pie.
