Control freak? Respect. Here's how to fine-tune exactly what Pie notifies you about.
Pie gives you separate control over push notifications and text messages (SMS) for each type of notification.
📱 On the App
- Go to your profile.
- Tap the settings gear ⚙️.
- Tap notifications.
- Find the notification type you want to change, and turn its push or sms switch on or off.
You can also open your notification settings by tapping the gear icon in your inbox.
💻 On the Web
- Sign in at getpie.app.
- Go to your profile, then settings, then notifications.
- Turn switches on or off as needed.
What you can control
Your notification settings are grouped into three sections.
your plans
- plan alerts (push and sms): RSVPs, join requests, plan changes, and payments
- blasts (sms only): Announcements hosts send to their attendees
- plan chats (push only): Messages in plan group chats
stars align
- star (push and sms): New stars and stars aligned
happenings
- invites (push and sms): Plan invitations
- chats (push only): Direct messages
- friends & follows (push only): New followers and people following you back
- from pie (sms only): Messages from the Pie team
💡 Push and SMS are controlled separately. For example, you can turn off SMS for plan alerts but keep push on.
FAQs
Can I turn off notifications when someone likes my post?
Not from Pie's notification settings at this time. To stop them, you'd need to turn off notifications for Pie in your phone's settings, which turns off all Pie push notifications.
How do I stop getting notified about new followers?
Turn off the push switch for friends & follows.
Is there a way to mute everything at once?
Not in Pie directly. You'll need to turn off each type individually, or use your phone's Do Not Disturb or notification settings.
Why am I still getting some texts even though I turned SMS off?
Make sure you turned off SMS for the right notification type. Each type has its own switch, so turning off SMS for one won't affect the others.
What if I opted out of texts by replying STOP?
If you replied STOP to a Pie text, you've opted out through your carrier. To get texts again, you'll need to opt back in. Turning switches back on in the app won't do it on its own.
Do my notification settings apply on both the app and the web?
Yes. Settings are saved to your account, not your device.
