How to Manage Your Notifications

Control freak? Respect. Here's how to fine-tune exactly what Pie notifies you about.

Pie gives you separate control over push notifications and SMS for each notification type. Turn any of them on or off individually β€” except system messages, which always come through.

πŸ“± On the App

  1. Go to Profile β†’ Settings β†’ Notifications.
  2. Find the category you want to adjust.
  3. Toggle Push or SMS on or off.

πŸ’» On the Web

  1. Sign in at getpie.app.
  2. Go to your profile β†’ Settings β†’ Notifications.
  3. Toggle as needed.

What you can control

Category Push SMS What it covers
Plan alerts βœ… βœ… RSVPs, requests, plan changes, payments
Invites βœ… βœ… Plan invitations
Stars βœ… βœ… New stars, Stars Aligned
Text bumps β€” βœ… Host announcements to attendees
Chats βœ… β€” Direct messages
Plan chats βœ… β€” Plan group chat messages
Connections βœ… β€” Friend requests and follows
System βœ… βœ… Always on β€” can't be disabled

πŸ’‘ Push and SMS are controlled independently. You can keep SMS off for chats but keep push on, for example.

FAQ

Is there a way to mute everything at once?
Not in Pie directly β€” you'd need to toggle categories individually. For full silence, use your phone's system-level Do Not Disturb.

Why am I still getting some SMS even though I turned them off?
Check that you've toggled off the right category. Some categories only support push, not SMS β€” so turning off SMS for one category won't affect another.

Why can't I turn off system notifications?
System notifications cover things like payment confirmations and messages from the Pie team. Since they're account-critical, they can't be disabled.

What if I opted out of SMS via text?
If you replied STOP to a Pie SMS, you've opted out at the carrier level. To get SMS again you'll need to opt back in β€” toggling settings in the app alone won't re-enable them.

Do my notification settings apply on both app and web?
Yes. Settings are per account, not per device.
