There are a few ways to interact with posts in your Home feed: like them, repost them with your own take, share them outside of Pie, or join the conversation in the post's group chat.

How to like a post
- Find the post in your feed.
- Tap the heart.
To remove your like, tap the heart again.
When someone likes your post, you'll get a push notification that says [their name] liked your post, with your post's text underneath. You'll get one notification for each like.
How to repost
Reposting shares someone else's post to a location, community, or your friends, with the original post quoted.
- Find the post in your feed.
- Tap the repost icon. The composer opens with the post quoted inside it.
- Optional: Add your own text.
- Tap the to ___ chip to choose where your repost goes.
- Tap post.
Reposts are text only. You can't add a photo, link, plan, or squiggle frame to a repost. To learn more about choosing where your post goes, see How to Make, Edit, or Delete a Post.
How to share a post
- Find the post in your feed.
- Tap the share icon. Your phone's share sheet opens with a link to the post.
- Choose how you want to share it, like a text, DM, or copy link.
When someone opens the link, the post appears at the top of their Pie feed.
If you see we couldn't get a link for this post. please try again., wait a moment and tap the share icon again.
How to join a post's chat
Every post has its own group chat where people can talk about it.
- Find the post in your feed.
- Tap chat in the bottom right of the post.
Once you join:
- The chat appears in your Chats tab.
- You'll get notifications when new messages come in.
How to add people to a post's chat
Anyone who has joined a post's chat can add people to it.
- Open the post's chat from your Chats tab, or by tapping chat on the post.
- Tap the person-with-a-plus icon in the top right.
- Tap the names of the people you want to add. You can use the search pie friends box to find someone. Each person you pick appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap the X next to a name to remove them.
- Tap invite.
You'll land back in the chat once they've been added.
Who you can add
- Only people who follow you appear in the list.
- People you follow who don't follow you back won't appear.
- People already in the chat won't appear.
What happens when you add someone
They're added right away. They don't need to accept, and they won't get a notification. The chat will simply show up in their Chats tab.
Want to bring in someone who doesn't follow you? Tap the share icon on the post and send them the link. They can open it and tap chat to join.
If you see something went wrong. please try again., try adding them again.
Managing chat members
- Open the chat.
- Tap ….
- Tap members.
To manage a specific person, tap the â‹® next to their name. Depending on your role, you'll see:
- make admin: Give them admin access to the chat.
- remove admin: Take away their admin access.
- remove: Remove them from the chat.
You'll only see the options you have permission to use. The person who made the post and chat admins can manage members.
Muting a post's chat
- Open the chat.
- Tap ….
- Tap mute.
You'll stay in the chat but stop getting notifications. To turn notifications back on, tap … and then unmute.
Leaving a post's chat
- Open the chat.
- Tap ….
- Tap leave chat.
You'll leave right away. There's no confirmation step. The chat will be removed from your Chats tab.
If you made the post, you can't leave its chat. The chat stays open until you delete the post, which deletes the chat along with it.
Viewing a post's community
If a post was shared to a community, the community's name appears next to the author's name. Tap the community name to open its community home.
FAQs
Can I see who liked my post?
You can see the number of likes on your post, but not a list of who liked it. You'll get a push notification with each person's name when they like it.
Why can't I add a photo to my repost?
Reposts are text only. To share a photo, link, or plan, create a new post instead.
Why can't I find someone when adding people to a chat?
You can only add people who follow you. To bring in someone else, share the post link with them so they can join on their own.
Why can't I leave the chat on my own post?
The person who made a post stays in its chat. To remove the chat, delete the post.
