FOMO who? Here's everything Pie notifies you about, so you never miss a plan, a message, or a new friend.
📬 How notifications arrive
Most notifications come by push or text, depending on how you have your settings set up. A few exceptions:

💌 Invites and new plans
You'll get notified when:
- You're invited to a plan, or to several plans at once
- A friend or someone you follow makes a new plan
💡 You'll only hear about plans you're able to see. Public plans notify friends and followers, friends-only plans notify the host's Pie friends, and private plans only notify people the host invites directly.
✋ RSVPs and join requests
- Approval-only plans: you'll be notified when the host approves or declines your request to join.
- Said Maybe? A Maybe doesn't hold your spot. If the host adds more capacity, you'll get a nudge to tap Yes or No, so lock it in before spots fill up.
📅 After you join a plan
Plan updates. You'll be notified right away if the host:
- Changes the date
- Changes the time
- Changes the location
- Cancels the plan
Reminders. You'll get a countdown reminder before the plan, plus a "get excited" nudge closer to the day.
Messages from the host. You'll get new messages in the plan chat, plus text blasts: texts the host sends straight to guests with last-minute details like parking info or "we're at the back table."
💡 If you turn off text blasts in your settings, you'll miss these. Hosts often use them for day-of details, so we recommend keeping them on.
🎟️ Paid plans
- Pay within a day of approval. If you're approved for a paid plan, you'll have one day to pay. If you don't, your spot goes to someone else and you'll be notified that it expired.
- Plan updates. If a paid plan changes, you'll be notified along with any refund info.
- Refunds. You'll be notified when a refund is issued.
- Receipts. Your ticket receipt arrives by email.
👋 Friends, stars, and chats
You'll get notified when:
- You get a new friend request, or someone accepts yours
- Someone new follows you
- Someone stars you
- You and someone else star each other (Stars Aligned ✨)
- You get a new direct message
- Someone joins a conversation you're in
- Someone you follow makes a new post
🏠 Homes
You'll get notified when:
- Your request to join a Home is approved
- You're made an admin of a Home
- A new plan or post is added to a Home you're in
- Someone likes or comments on your post
If you're a Home owner or admin, you'll also be notified when someone asks to join or joins your Home.
💡 Home alerts are push only.

FAQ
Why didn't I get notified about a friend's plan?
The plan may be private, which means only people the host invited directly are notified. It's also possible you've turned off that notification type in your settings.
I said Maybe. Is my spot saved?
No. A Maybe doesn't hold a spot. Tap Yes to make sure you're in.
What happens if I don't pay for a paid plan in time?
You have one day after approval to pay. After that, your spot goes to someone else and you'll be notified that it expired.
Why am I getting texts from a host?
Those are text blasts: messages the host sends to guests of a plan you've joined. You can turn them off in your settings, but you might miss important day-of details.
Where's my ticket receipt?
Ticket receipts arrive by email. Check your spam or promotions folder if you don't see it.
How do I stop getting certain notifications?
