Buying Tickets on Pie

Some plans on Pie require a ticket purchase to attend.

This article covers how ticket purchases work, where to find your ticket, and what to expect after checkout.

Purchasing a Ticket

If a plan requires a ticket:

  1. Open the plan
  2. Select the ticket you’d like to purchase
  3. Complete checkout
  4. Once payment is successful, your spot will be confirmed

For some plans, hosts may require approval before you can purchase a ticket.

In those cases:

  1. Request to join the plan
  2. Wait for host approval
  3. Complete your ticket purchase once approved

Until payment is completed, your status may show Pending Purchase.

Your spot is not fully secured until payment is successfully completed.


Accessing Your Ticket

You can access your ticket anytime through Pie.

On the App

  1. Open the plan you’ve purchased a ticket for
  2. Your ticket will be available directly within the plan
  3. Tap your ticket to view the QR code

On the Web

  1. Sign in at getpie.app
  2. Open the plan you’ve purchased a ticket for
  3. Your ticket will be available within the plan details

Your ticket stays connected to the Pie account used to complete the purchase.


Checking In at the Event

Most ticketed plans use one of two check-in methods:

Option 1: QR Code Check-In

Open your ticket and present the QR code to the host or event staff.

For faster entry, you can add your ticket to your phone’s wallet ahead of time.

Option 2: Account Verification

Hosts can also check you in using the last four digits of the phone number associated with the Pie account that purchased the ticket.

To avoid issues at check-in, make sure you’re attending with the same account used to complete the purchase.


Ticket Confirmation Emails

If your Pie account has an email address connected to it, you’ll also receive a ticket confirmation email after completing your purchase.

Not sure if you have an email connected?

  1. Go to Profile
  2. Tap the Settings gear icon
  3. Tap Contact Info
  4. Add or update your email address

Your ticket will still be accessible through Pie even if you don’t have an email connected to your account.


Important Things to Know

One Ticket Per Account

Each Pie account can purchase one ticket per ticketed plan.

If a friend would like to attend, they’ll need to:

  • create or log into their own Pie account
  • purchase a ticket using their own account

Tickets cannot be purchased on behalf of another user through a single Pie account.


Group Chat Access

Once you’re confirmed for a ticketed plan, you’ll gain access to the plan’s group chat (if enabled by the host).

This allows attendees to:

  • meet other attendees before the event
  • receive updates from the host
  • coordinate with the group
  • get to know who’s attending

FAQ

What does “Pending Purchase” mean?

The host has approved your request to attend, but you haven’t completed payment yet.

Your spot is not fully secured until your ticket purchase is completed.


Can I buy multiple tickets?

No.

Each Pie account can purchase one ticket per ticketed plan.

Anyone else attending will need to purchase their own ticket through their own Pie account.


Can I leave a ticketed plan after purchasing?

Not directly through the app.

If you have questions about refunds, transfers, or attendance changes, contact the host directly.


I paid for a ticket but don’t see my confirmation.

First, make sure you’re logged into the same Pie account that completed the purchase.

If you’re still unable to locate your ticket, contact Pie Support.


Do I need to print my ticket?

No.

You can access your ticket directly through Pie and present the QR code at check-in.

For faster entry, you can also add your ticket to your phone’s wallet ahead of time.
