Using Link-out Plans

Link-Out lets you share and promote your plan on Pie, while directing guests to another platform to complete their RSVP or purchase.

🧩 What is a Link-Out plan?

A Link-Out plan allows you to:

• Create a plan on Pie for discovery, visibility, and leveraging Pie's social layer capabilities
• Redirect guests to an external site (Eventbrite, Luma, Posh, etc.) to join or purchase tickets

This is helpful if you’re already using another platform or need features not currently supported on Pie.

⚙️ How to use Link-Out

To create a Link-Out plan:

1. Start by creating a new plan
2. Select Link-Out as your plan type
3. Add your external URL (ticketing, RSVP, etc.)
4. Your plan will auto-generate with details—feel free to review and edit as needed before publishing

Once published:

• Your plan will appear on Pie like any other plan
• When guests tap Join, they’ll be redirected to your external link

🌍 Visibility

Link-Out plans are always public

Private or friends-only Link-Out plans are not supported at this time.

🎯 When to use Link-Out

Link-Out is a good fit if you:

• Use platforms like Eventbrite, Luma, or Posh
• Need advanced ticketing (discount codes, tiered pricing, etc.)
• Want to manage RSVPs or attendees outside of Pie
• Need faster payouts or external payment flows

💸 Earnings & tracking (PCC)

If you’re in the Pie Creator Club, you can still earn rewards from Link-Out plans.

However:

• RSVPs made outside of Pie are not tracked on-platform
• External ticketing and payments do not go through Pie

⚠️ Things to know

• Tapping Join on Pie will redirect users off-platform
• Guests are marked as “joined” on Pie when they tap Join, even if they haven’t completed a ticket purchase externally
• Pie should be treated as a distribution layer, not your final source of truth for attendance
• Guest data (emails, tickets, etc.) is managed by the external platform
• RSVP and attendance tracking may not fully reflect in Pie

👉 If needed, you can use tools like text bump to remind guests to complete their ticket purchase.

❓ When should I not use Link-Out?

You may want to use a native Pie plan instead if you:

• Want accurate RSVP and attendance tracking within Pie
• Need Pie to reflect your final guest list or capacity
• Want to manage full guest list within the app
• Are hosting a private or invite-only event (Link-Out is public only right now)
• Don’t need external ticketing features
