Advanced Plan Settings

Fine-tune who can join and how your guest list grows.

Advanced settings give you control over your plan's access and social dynamics. You'll find these when editing a plan.

Request to Join

When Request to Join is on, people can't join your plan automatically β€” they send a request and you approve or decline each one.

  • Off (default) β€” Anyone who can see the plan can join freely.
  • On β€” Everyone must request to join, including friends.

πŸ’‘ This setting locks the moment you publish. Choose carefully β€” you can't change it after a plan goes live.

Capacity

Set a maximum number of guests. Once you hit the limit, no more people can join until a spot opens up.

  • You can raise or lower the guest cap at any time after publishing.
  • Once you've set a capacity, you can't remove it entirely β€” you can only adjust the number.
  • "Maybe" RSVPs aren't allowed on plans with a capacity limit. Anyone who RSVPed Maybe will be moved to Invited when you enable capacity.

Guests Can Invite Others

When this is on, your attendees can share the plan and bring in people who otherwise wouldn't discover it.

  • On a friends plan, this means your guests can invite people who aren't your friends, which widens your plan's reach.
  • On a public plan, this is always on automatically.
  • Turn it off if you want to keep the guest list controlled entirely by you.

Questions for Guests

Ask guests questions when they join your plan. You can add questions while creating or editing a plan. Questions aren't available on imported plans.

To add questions

  1. Tap add questions for guests. If you've already added questions, tap the button next to questions for guests instead.
  2. Choose your settings:
    • make responses required: Guests must answer every question to join. This applies to all of your questions.
    • collect email: Ask guests for their email address.
  3. Type your question into the next empty slot (question 1, question 2, and so on). The screen shows the maximum number of questions you can add.
  4. Tap done.

To edit a question: Change the text in its slot, then tap done.

To remove a question: Delete all of the text in its slot, then tap done. Empty slots are removed automatically.

To change the order: There's no reorder option. Retype your questions into the slots in the order you want.

πŸ’‘ The done button stays greyed out if two of your questions are exactly the same.
