Using Pie for Ticketing

Pie allows you to sell tickets directly within your plans, while also giving you the flexibility to use other platforms if needed.

How Pie ticketing works

Pie has built-in ticketing that lets you:

  • set your own ticket price
  • sell directly through the app
  • get paid through Stripe

You keep 100% of the ticket price you set, and fees are added on top for the attendee.

When to use Pie for ticketing

Pie is a strong option when you want:

  • a simple, fast setup
  • built-in distribution and discovery
  • a social layer where people can see who’s going
  • transparent pricing (no hidden or baked-in fees)

Fees are $0.99 + 5% per ticket, paid by the attendee.

When to use other platforms

You are not required to use Pie for ticketing.

If you already have a setup that works well, you can continue using it.

Some hosts choose external platforms for:

  • discount codes
  • tiered pricing
  • donation-based or sliding scale tickets

You can still create your plan on Pie and link out to external ticketing, using Pie as your discovery and distribution layer.

Current limitations

Pie’s ticketing is still evolving.

Currently:

  • each attendee must have a Pie account
  • tickets are 1 per person (1 per account)
  • advanced pricing features (like discount codes or tiered pricing) are not yet supported
    • if you want to offer early pricing, you can update the ticket price later; however, only one price point can be active at a time

ℹ️ Important to know

  • You can use Pie with or without external ticketing platforms
  • Pie works best when you want simple setup + built-in distribution
  • There is no need to change your setup if something else is already working well
