How to Enable Your Location on Pie

Pie uses your location to show you relevant plans nearby.

Location helps Pie surface plans in your city and keep your feed relevant to where you actually are. It's optional β€” but without it, you'll see fewer nearby plans.

πŸ“± On the App

Pie will ask for location permission when you first sign up. Tap Allow While Using App when prompted.

If you said no the first time:

  1. Open your phone's Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Pie.
  3. Tap Location and select While Using the App.
  4. Re-open Pie β€” your location will update automatically.

πŸ’» On the Web

For best results on web, set your city manually in your profile so Pie knows where to show you plans.

πŸ’‘ No GPS? No problem. Pie falls back to the city you've set in your profile β€” so you'll still see relevant plans even without precise location enabled.

FAQ

What does Pie use my location for?
Primarily to show you plans happening near you. It's not used for anything else β€” like who can see your profile or who gets recommended to you.

Can I set my city manually instead of using GPS?
Yes. Go to Profile β†’ Edit Profile β†’ update your City. Pie will use that to find nearby plans if GPS isn't available.

Is my precise location shared with other users?
No. Other users only see the city you've listed on your profile, never your exact coordinates.

What if I'm traveling and want to see plans in another city?
Update your city in your profile. See Traveling with Pie? Here's How to Update Your City.
